I had to take the picture frame off every time and use a key to unlock it. The key hole is on the front of the safe about Midway down. You have to remove the bolts top and bottom of the picture frame slide it off and behind it will be the lock for the key to go in to release the door. Sometimes it’s just not worth it to have a fancy safe.
