Small but Secure

This wall safe features dual protection which incorporates a 3 number key and lock combination. Security is enhanced by a rugged 16 gauge steel frame which has double plate steel door and two locking bolts which essentially secures the door using a concealed hinge.  The fact that it is quite small makes it easy to conceal it much better.

SentrySafe 7150 Interior
Safe Operation

This is the ideal safe-keeping equipment for the modern home. Basically, the SentrySafe 7150 Dual Protection Wall Safe can be mounted on standard walls with 2 studs and you can also flush the safe to wall.

The operation of the door is quite simple and the reversible door design gives you the freedom to swing the door open from either left or right. You can also access the adjustable shelf to keep the valuables in an organized manner.

Easy Installation

If you are using it for the first time, you can simplify the most challenging part by consulting your manual from time to time. However, you don’t have to make so many adjustments to get it up on the wall. The installation procedure is easy and straightforward there is nothing that you can’t handle.

It’s much easier to mount this safe on your wall, and it does not take up much space either, so you don’t have to dig deeper into the wall for concealment.

Modest Security Features

SentrySafe 7150 Dual Protection Wall Safe is a the convenient safe for someone who is not really troubled about the security concerns of his or valuables in the short term. If you operate on a low budget and live in an area with moderate security concerns, then this is the right safe for you.

On the contrary the safety features of this safe pale in comparison to other standard UL rated safes. Well, the quality may not be its strength partly because of the thinner metal casing but it still offers reasonable security against small time thieves and prying activities in your absence.

Locking Mechanism

Generally, the lock mechanism is well built and you will find the lock combination easy to operate because it locks smoothly.  However, one major weakness of the safe is the plastic cover and flange which could melt even in a small fire exposure, thus, increasing the possibility of extensive damage to fire-sensitive valuables and consequently, impairing the function of the SentrySafe 7150 safe.

FireProof and Water Resistant

You can make the safe fireproof if you install flush in concrete. However, the temperature of the adjacent area should be moderate during a fire exposure. Thread covering and ring which flush with the steel door can should offer reasonable protection of valuable against water exposure.

Possible Put Offs

You may experience a bit of difficulty when using the rotating code lock, so you must get the locking mechanism in working order to avoid inconveniences occasioned by lock failure.

It can be quite challenging to open the safe if there are spills which seep through to the rubber covering. Anyway, it’s highly unlikely that liquids will spill through when the safe is mounted securely on the wall.

Another problem that you may have to contend with is the dial’s opening efficiency. This may not be a problem when the safe is still new but it may have difficulty turning it after several years of use. The outer cover may not be firm but it still can stand a considerable blow if hit from the outside.

Summary

In conclusion, it is fair to say that the pricing of this SentrySafe 7150 Dual protection Wall Safe somehow commensurate its minimalistic design and features.

It may not be the high end safe installation that you desire but it is pretty much simple and straightforward, your only concern may be to get additional screws to reach metal studs during installation. This is not a big issue.

  1. Thanks for the cool review. I’ve just been getting into wall safes and I’ve been looking for wall safes for a week now and it’s hard to find affordable but higher quality ones. I haven’t bought this as yet but it looks much better quality that other wall safes of similar price ranges that you can find on amazon. I’m pretty sure a keypad/battery lock would give a lot more problems than the dial, and that’s why i prefer a dial lock.
As for the internal space, 3-3/4 inch seems pretty common, it’s the height that is limiting with this one but not a deal break, i find depth to be 10x more important than height but that’s just me.

Hoping you can answer a few questions:
If a thief really wanted to steal the entire safe off the wall, how hard would it be to break the surrounding dry wall and the studs and take the entire thing?

How thick is the steel of the door of the 7150?

Do you still need the key when using the dial? Or does the lock open automatically when you enter the right code?

    Thanks!

  2. Oh and this fits between 16″ studs? I believe studs are approx 14.5″ from the sides of the stud and this safe is 15.8″

  3. Will this fit where my sentery safe model. 7150 was min broke know can’t get guess they stopped maki g selling them so can you give info on one that will fit
